Art    Folklore   Writing

 It's true: life is art. A continual coming together of elements; many unseen until ready. Until we are ready. Whether visual, kinetic, acoustic, verbal, we are always artist and audience. This blessed weave always moves us into the moment of seeing and being seen.

My fiction, poetry, journalism, non-fiction, and short plays have received several awards and have appeared in numerous platforms, including Big Blend Magazine, BluePepper, Cold Moon Journal,  Eat the Storms Podcast, Fringe of Marin FestivalGAS: Poetry, Art, Music, Nightingale and Sparrow,  San Francisco  MagazineThe San Francisco Chronicle, The Storms Journal, Visual Verse, and Wise Owl.

As a  
folklorist, I facilitate folklore-related and creative writing workshops in the San Francisco Bay Area, and am a former folklore columnist for Big Blend Magazine. I have also written several folklore-related books, including Writing Your Own Family Stories, Seaweed Song, and Turn Treasured Memories into Folklore. In my folkloric bag is an original animal tale that will soon be available through Supernatural Park's anniversary podcast.     My assemblage/mixed-media art is a conversation with the grain of tree bark and other elements of flora, the weft/weave of fibers, and found objects. July 2022 Artist Spotlight, National Arts Program. Art exhibits include Santa Rosa Arts Center, Sebastopol Center for the Arts, Tiny Galleries Kiosk, Truckenbrod Gallery, and Virtual Art in the Park. My work has also been the cover art for six literary journals. To date, 52+ art pieces have been or are scheduled to be published in a range of literary journals/magazines. More
